Цель: Повторить и активизировать лексический материал темы.
Продолжать формировать навыки диалогического и монологического вещания.
Учить делать выводы и высказывать свое отношение к прочитанному.
Тренировать учащихся в чтении.
Практиковать учащихся в писании.
Расширять и углублять знания учащихся о жизни школьников за рубежом.
Воспитывать интерес к жизни сверстников за рубежом.
Оборудование: Учебник, рабочая тетрадь, анкета (КА).
ХОД УРОКА
И. ПОДГОТОВКА К ВОСПРИЯТИЮ ИНОСТРАННОЙ РЕЧИ
Greeting and Aim
1. Приветствие и сообщение темы и цели урока.
Т: Good morning, pupils! The topic of our today's lesson is «School in Britain». But we'll discuss other things as well. We'll speak about qualities of a good pupil, try to find out what kind of pupils you are. Let us start.
Warming up
2. Введение в иноязычную атмосферу.
Впр. 4 (с. 125). Песня «Saturday Morning».
Учащиеся прослушивают песню в аудио-записи или в исполнении учителя и поют ее самостоятельно.
II. ОСНОВНАЯ ЧАСТЬ УРОКА
Check on Homework
1. Проверка домашнего задания.
1) Упр. 2 (с. 124).
Т: Let us answer the questions about schools in Britain and compare their schools with Russian ones.
Ученики отвечают на вопросы. После каждого ответа учитель предлагает сравнить британскую школу с украинским.
Г: In Britain children go to elementary school at the age of five. They start secondary school at the age of 11.
T: What about Russian schools?
P: In Ukraine children go to elementary school at the age of 6. They start secondary school at the age of 10 or 11.
2) РЖД, упр. 3 (c. 90).
T: Your homework was to write about your English lessons. So who wants to read his or her homework?
Учитель вызывает учеников читать рассказы. Остальные слушают и дополняют их.
Vocabulary Practice
2. Повторение лексического материала, связанного с темой.
РЖД, упр. 1 (с. 91).
Ученики работают в тетрадях: ставят подписи под рисунками, отвечают на вопросы. Затем по очереди читают вслух названия предметов.

Speaking
3. Обсуждение вопроса «А Good Pupil - What Does It Mean?»
1) РЖД, упр. 2 (c. 91).
Учащиеся читают утверждения и определяют, соответствуют ли они содержанию текста.
2) Мозговой штурм. Работа в группах.
Ученики получают листы бумаги, где записывают свое мнение относительно того, каким должен быть хороший ученик. Затем учитель на доске пишет, какие черты присущи хорошим ученикам.
Т: So. A good pupil is attentive, active, polite. A good pupil studies well, does homework, helps his friends. A good pupil doesn't miss lessons, or come late to school, run in the corridors, fight with classmates, talk at the lessons, cheat in the lessons and tests, forget to do things, etc. How many good pupils are there in this classroom? Let us see.

1. You have homework in English, but you forgot to copy it down. What will you do?
a) Forget it.
b) Tell your teacher you did the homework but left it at home.

a) Watch television because you won't have time next week.
b) Forget it till next week.
c) Get started on the report.
3. You don't understand part of the Math homework. What do you do?
a) Do what you can and remember to ask questions next time.
b) don'T do anything and tell the teacher you didn't understand.
c) Tell the teacher that the dog ate your homework.
4. You were sick last week and missed two days of school. What do you do?
a) Forget it and hope the teacher will forget too.
b) Ask the teacher for the homework you missed and do it.
c) Copy the homework from the friend.
5. Your friend is having a big party tonight and you have a lot of homework. What do you do?
a) Do the homework before you go to the party.
b) Come home after the party and do the homework.
c) Plan to be sick tomorrow.
Answers lc, 2c, 3a, 4b, 5a give you 1 each point.
4 - 5 points. You're a good pupil.
3 points. You're OK, but try harder.
1 - 2 points. Change your homework now habits.
Учащиеся работают с анкетой и сообщают свои результаты: I’ve got 4 points. It means i'm a good pupil. I've got 2 points. I must change my homework habits.

2. Подведение итогов урока.
Т: I think you've learned much at our today's lesson. There is one thing we've missed. It is the proverb. Let us learn it now. Early bird catches the worm. Repeat it, learn it and remember it.

Ученики прослушивают пословицы в аудиозаписи или с голоса учителя и заучивают его.
