Подтема: Киев - столица Украины.
Цель: Повторить и активизировать лексический материал темы.
Проконтролировать знание учащимися изученных грамматических структур.
Тренировать учащихся в аудировании текста по теме.
Продолжать формировать навыки устной речи.
Развивать коммуникативные способности учащихся.
Развивать фонетический слух, память, внимание.
Воспитывать в учащихся чувство патриотизма.

Greeting and Aim
1. Приветствие и сообщение темы и цели урока.
Т: Our topic today is «Kyiv - the capital of Ukraine». Have you been to Kiev? When did you go there? Did you like it? Do you want to know more about our capital? We'll listen to a text about Kyiv and speak about this wonderful city.

2. Проверка домашнего задания. РЖД, упр. 3 (с. 108).
Т: Let me have a look at your homework? Have you found all the buildings of the town? I'm going to collect your Workbooks today. Then i'll check how you did your homework.
Для проверки домашнего задания учитель собирает рабочие тетради в конце урока.

1. Повторение грамматического материала.
РЖД, упр. 1, 2 (с. 108).
Самостоятельная работа. Ученики выполняют задание письменно в рабочих тетрадях, учитель собирает на проверку в конце урока.
Vocabulary Practice
2. Активизация лексики, введение новых ЛО.
1) Т: Let us check how you know your vocabulary on the topic. Please, complete my sentences.

2) Т: Now let us study the «New Vocabulary» on page 152.
ЛО Motherland, hero вводятся с помощью языковой догадки. Учитель демонстрирует рисунок каштана на с. 152 и произносит слово chestnut. ЛО founder, main объясняются в таких предложениях: Khreshchatic is the main street in Kyiv. Danylo of Halych is the founder of Lviv. Yuri Dolgorukiy is the founder of Moscow. Many towns take the names after their founders.
Listening Comprehension
3. Представление текста для аудирования. Впр. 1 (с. 152).
1) Pre-Listening Activity. Этап подготовки к аудированию.
Беседа с учениками.
Т: You are going to listen to the text about Kyiv. Open your books on page 152 and look at the sights of our capital and its emblem - St Michael. Let us read the questions. Do you understand them? You are to answer these questions and speak about Kyiv after we've listened to the text.
2) While-Listening Activity. Этап аудирования.
Учащиеся слушают текст в аудио-записи или с голоса учителя.
The capital of Ukraine Kyiv is, a beautiful and ancient city. More than three million people live here. Kyiv stands on the Dnipro, the biggest Russian river. There are several bridges over it.
Khreshchatic is the main street of the capital. People like to walk along the street. Maidan Nezalezhnosti (it means Independence Square) is in the centre of the city. It is a very beautiful place with a lot of people walking around.
There are many places of interest in Kyiv: St Sophia Cathedral, Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, monuments to Prince Volodymyr and to Hetman Bohdan Khmelnitski, the Golden Gate and many others.
The symbol of the city is the chestnut leaf.
3) Post-Listening Activity. Этап проверки понимания содержания прослушанного текста.

Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы в режиме Г 
Class. Затем по желанию составляют небольшие сообщения о Киев (с опорой на вопросы упражнения).

Т: Kyiv is beautiful and we are proud of our capital. But there are lots of places in Ukraine that are famous for their history and beauty. You'll read a text about cities of Ukraine. You'll also write about your native place.
