Тема. Домашние машины - помощники

Цель:

· совершенствовать навыки чтения, аудирования и устной речи по теме;

· научить учащихся элементов самостоятельного неподготовленного высказывания по теме с использованием речевых штампов;

· способствовать развитию самостоятельного мышления во время выполнения заданий проблемно-поискового характера;

· развивать логическое мышление, наблюдательность и сообразительность.

c) Bпp. 2, c. 121 - individually rate the machines from the above list according to their importance for people

Work in pairs. Compare your ratings of machines and come to an agreement on first five items on the list.

d) Bпp. 3, c. 121 - listen (tapescript 44, p. 198) to the descriptions of some household machines, read the following text and say what statements in it are false.

Microwave cooking takes much more time than cooking with electric or gas ovens.

That's why most containers made of these materials may not be used in microwave ovens.

The first vacuum cleaning devices were developed about 1890.

Most washing machines don't work automatically.

One of the first mechanical washers was made in 1969.

e) Find the linking words plus, either, too, also in the ad above (Ex. 4b, p. 122) and according to the example, make up two sentences about each of the gadgets.
