УРОК 32

Тема. Отделения больницы. Профилактический осмотр

Цель:

· совершенствовать навыки чтения и устной речи, употребление ЛО в грамматической структуре Present Simple;

· развивать коммуникативные способности учащихся;

· способствовать развитию самостоятельного мышления, умения делать выводы, обобщения.

II. Подготовка к иностранного вещания

Фонетическая и речевая зарядка.

III. Основная часть урока

a) Проверка выполнения домашнего задания. Впр. 4 а, с. 58

b) Упр. 1, с. 58 - listen (tape script 21 page188) and match the names of the units with their functions.

· emergency unit - treating those who suddenly become ill

· food service department - preparing meals

· intensive care unit - treating critically ill patients

· intermediate care unit - treating all kinds of patients

· laboratories - doing tests

· medical records department - keeping records on patients

· pediatric unit - treating children

· pharmacy - making and selling drugs

· surgical unit - performing operations

c) Discuss the following questions.

Have you ever been in hospital for a long time?

What units were there in that hospital? What unit were you in?

Were there playrooms for children in that hospital?

Did you have to go to a laboratory?

Where did you have meals?

Did you like being in hospital? Why? Why not?

d) Listen to the story and try to understand it.

“Nuts”

Two patients in the psychiatric ward in an Army hospital were trying to drive a nail into the wall. One of them had the head of the nail against the wall and was hitting it on the pointed end.

“I am supposed to be nuts”, he complained”, but look at the nails they issue in this joint”.

“You're nuts, all right”, okayed the second”, though you keep boasting of being a glorious member of the US Corps of Engineers. That nail is for the wall on the opposite side”.
