Тема. Общие сведения о городе
Цель:
· совершенствовать навыки чтения и устной речи по теме;
· формировать навыки неподготовленного монологического речи с употреблением новых ЛО и словосочетаний;
· развивать коммуникативные способности учащихся, элементы логического и критического мышления;
· воспитывать уважение к британских музыкальных традиций;
· формировать умение делать обобщение, сравнительный анализ и выводы из изученных учебных ситуаций.

When a gentleman walks with a lady in the street or the pavement he does not always go on her left side, but keeps to that side of his companion where he can protect her from passing traffic; he will thus have to change sides according to whether they walk with or against traffic?
When crossing the street a gentleman supports his lady companion by the elbow, thus steering her through the cars and over to the other side?
