Тема. Reading a Newspaper. Learning Strategies

Цель: совершенствовать навыки аудирования, ММ и ДМ по теме «Общение в школе и после уроков»; формировать навыки употребления ситуативной лексики в грамматических структурах Present, Past Simple Tense / should / would; формировать навыки теоретического и практического выполнения заданий проблемно-поискового характера; развивать фантазию, воображение, наблюдательность и эстетическое восприятие окружающей среды; способствовать развитию самостоятельного аналитического мышления, умения работать в группах.

III. Основная часть урока

a) Эх. 7, г. 22 - Look through the newspaper index again and discuss the information you are interested in.

b) Ex. 1, p. 23 - Listen(page 249) to ann's report about early newspapers in the USA and answer the questions:

· When was the first true newspaper printed?

· What was the name of the first successful newspaper in the USA?

· When did it begin printing?

· Why was 1833 important in newspaper publishing?

· List four ways the penny newspapers were like the newspapers of today.

c) Ex. 3 p. 23 - Look and say what modern newspapers people in Great Britain and the USA read. Start like it's shown on the pattern.

d) Learning Strategies: Reading Newspapers and Talking News The newspaper carries an article on / about...
